Meet Liam Garland

Current British Championship MX2 racer, lifelong motocross rider and founder of Garland Powersports.

Garland Powersports was built around real riding experience and a simple belief: customers buying specialist electric and off-road bikes online should receive honest advice from people who genuinely understand the products.

Founder & Owner

A specialist business built by a genuine rider

My name is Liam Garland, and I am the founder and owner of Garland Powersports Ltd.

Motocross has played a major role in my life for years. Riding and racing have given me practical experience of bike setup, rider confidence, progression and how differently two machines can feel even when their specifications appear similar on paper.

That first-hand knowledge shapes the products we choose, the buying guides we create and the advice we give customers every day.

Garland Powersports is not intended to be another faceless online store. It is a specialist UK business focused on helping families and riders choose the right electric bike, dirt bike, pit bike or youth quad with confidence.

“The right bike is not always the most expensive one. It is the bike that properly suits the rider.”

A career of racing, setbacks and comebacks

Liam's Motocross Story

Motocross has been part of Liam Garland's life from a young age. His racing career has included multiple British youth motocross championship titles, international representation, Grand Prix appearances and memorable results at British Championship level.

It has also been a career shaped by serious injuries and lengthy periods away from racing. Rather than allowing those setbacks to end his involvement in the sport, Liam has repeatedly worked his way back to national-level competition.

“Some of the most memorable parts of my career have come from overcoming injuries and finding a way back to the start line.”

Liam Garland

That experience of progression, setbacks and rebuilding confidence now plays an important role in how Garland Powersports understands riders and recommends suitable bikes.

Why Liam Started Garland Powersports

Buying a specialist electric bike online can be confusing. Two models may look almost identical in photographs yet differ significantly in weight, seat height, throttle response, wheel size, rider position and long-term suitability.

Customers regularly need clear answers to questions such as:

Which bike properly suits this rider?
Is the bike too large or too powerful?
Will the rider quickly outgrow it?
What support is available after delivery?

Garland Powersports was created to make those decisions easier. The aim is to combine carefully selected products with honest advice, useful sizing guidance, detailed comparisons and knowledgeable after-sales support.

We would rather recommend the right bike than simply direct every customer towards the most expensive option.

Real-world experience

Why Racing Still Matters

Racing keeps Liam directly connected to the sport and gives Garland Powersports a practical perspective that cannot be gained from product specifications alone.

Bike feel and setup

Understanding suspension, throttle response, weight distribution and rider position in real conditions.

Rider progression

Recognising how confidence, experience and physical size affect the suitability of each bike.

Product assessment

Looking beyond headline specifications when deciding which products deserve a place in the range.

Useful customer advice

Translating technical differences into straightforward guidance for parents and riders.

Building a trusted specialist

Building Garland Powersports

Since becoming an online-focused retailer in 2024, Garland Powersports has continued to develop its product range, website, buying guides and customer support.

Stock is held within UK warehousing, while selected larger bikes can be professionally assembled and PDI checked before secure pallet delivery.

Liam remains closely involved in product selection, supplier relationships, website content, customer advice and the overall direction of the business.

The objective is not simply to add more products. It is to build a specialist business customers trust when choosing a bike and return to as the rider progresses.

The Most Rewarding Part of the Business

One of the best parts of running Garland Powersports is receiving customer photographs and hearing how riders are progressing.

Whether it is a child's first electric balance bike, a move onto a faster progression model or an upgrade to a larger electric dirt bike, seeing customers enjoy their bikes is a reminder of why the business was created.

Those experiences matter far more than simply completing another transaction.
