Revvi 16 XL Seat Height & Rider Size Guide
The Revvi 16 XL is not simply a taller version of the standard Revvi 16. It is a much more substantial, performance-focused bike with an adjustable seat height of approximately 62–79cm, a 600W motor, hydraulic brakes and full suspension. This guide explains who it fits, who should avoid it and whether the 16 Plus or Revvi 18 may be a better choice.

Compare Revvi 16 XL BundlesHow tall is the Revvi 16 XL seat?
The Revvi 16 XL seat adjusts from approximately 62cm at its lowest position to 79cm at its highest. It is generally aimed at confident riders around 120–140cm tall and approximately 6–9 years old. Rider experience and physical strength are especially important because the 16 XL is significantly more powerful and substantial than the Revvi 16 and 16 Plus.
Measure vertically from level ground to the top of the saddle
The 62–79cm published range is measured from the ground to the saddle. Start lower while the rider becomes familiar with the bike, then raise the seat gradually as their height and confidence increase.
Because the 16 XL has a much taller frame than the standard Revvi 16, secure ground contact should be checked physically rather than assumed from wheel size alone.
Revvi 16 XL sizing specifications
The Revvi 16 XL keeps 16-inch wheels but uses a substantially taller, heavier and more capable chassis than the standard Revvi 16 models.
| Measurement | Revvi 16 XL | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| Adjustable seat height | Approx. 62–79cm | Much taller than the standard Revvi 16 and 16 Plus. |
| Wheel size | 16 inches | Compact wheel diameter, but not a compact beginner frame. |
| Typical rider height | Approx. 120–140cm | Best suited to taller, confident young riders. |
| Typical age guide | Approx. 6–9 years | Age alone is not enough; ability and strength matter. |
| Bike weight | Approx. 17.4kg | Noticeably heavier than the standard 16-inch Revvi models. |
| Motor | 24V 600W brushless hub motor | A major step up in acceleration and capability. |
| Speed settings | Approx. 9.3 / 13.5 / 17.5mph | Allows controlled progression through three modes. |
| Brakes | Front and rear hydraulic discs | Stronger braking for the bike's extra speed and weight. |
Do not judge it by the “16” name
The Revvi 16 XL does not fit like the standard Revvi 16. Its saddle range, chassis, weight and riding position are all substantially larger.
A child who fits a Revvi 16 or 16 Plus well may still be too small or inexperienced for the XL.
Who is the Revvi 16 XL really for?
The best Revvi 16 XL rider is not simply a child who is tall enough. They should already be comfortable controlling speed, using brakes consistently and supporting a heavier electric bike.
Physical fit
The rider should reach the ground and controls without stretching or leaning the bike.
Previous experience
They should already understand balance, throttle control and controlled braking.
Strength and confidence
They must be able to support and manoeuvre a bike weighing approximately 17.4kg.
Choose the Revvi 16 XL when:
- The rider is approximately 120–140cm tall
- They have outgrown the standard Revvi 16 platform
- They use a throttle and brakes confidently
- They are ready for stronger acceleration and hydraulic braking
- The Revvi 18 still feels physically too large
- They ride regularly on suitable private off-road ground
Avoid the Revvi 16 XL when:
- The rider is still learning basic balance
- They cannot reach the ground securely
- The bike feels heavy or intimidating when stationary
- They are nervous about speed or stronger acceleration
- The Revvi 16 Plus already provides enough capability
- They are tall enough to be better matched to a Revvi 18
How to measure your child for a Revvi 16 XL
Use the rider's normal footwear and take the measurement on a flat floor. This is particularly important because the minimum saddle position is far taller than on the standard Revvi 16 models.
Stand against a wall
Ask the child to stand naturally with their feet slightly apart.
Simulate the saddle
Place a book between the legs and raise it gently to the seated position.
Measure to the floor
Measure vertically from the top of the book to level ground.
Allow for confident ground contact
A rider should not be placed on the 16 XL simply because their inseam approximately matches the lowest saddle figure.
Saddle width, footwear, suspension sag and real riding posture all affect reach. A confident rider should still be able to stabilise and stop the bike.
Revvi 16 Plus vs 16 XL vs Revvi 18
The Revvi 16 XL sits between the manageable 16 Plus and the physically larger Revvi 18. It is the performance step for riders who still benefit from 16-inch wheels.
| Comparison | Revvi 16 Plus | Revvi 16 XL | Revvi 18 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical age | Approx. 5–8 | Approx. 6–9 | Approx. 8–12 |
| Typical rider | Developing or confident younger rider | Experienced progressing rider | Taller or older progressing rider |
| Wheel size | 16 inch | 16 inch | 18 inch |
| Motor | 24V 250W | 24V 600W | 36V 500W |
| Top speed | Up to approx. 12mph | Up to approx. 17.5mph | Up to approx. 19mph |
| Ride character | Manageable and confidence-building | Compact but much more performance-focused | Larger, roomier and more substantial |
| Best reason to choose | Smoother progression | Maximum capability while remaining on 16-inch wheels | More physical space and larger-bike progression |
Our recommendation
Choose the Revvi 16 Plus for a rider who needs a smoother, lighter and more manageable progression bike.
Choose the Revvi 16 XL when the rider is genuinely ready for more power and capability but still benefits from a 16-inch platform.
Choose the Revvi 18 when the rider needs more physical room and is ready for the larger wheel size.
Complete the Revvi 16 XL with the right bundle
The 16 XL is likely to be ridden harder and for longer than a basic starter bike. That makes both protective equipment and spare battery capacity especially worthwhile.
Revvi 16 XL + Riding Gear Bundle
Best for: riders who still need a complete protective setup.
- Revvi 16 XL electric bike
- Suitable Revvi full-face helmet
- Revvi riding jersey
- Revvi long-finger riding gloves
- One complete purchase rather than sourcing equipment separately
This should be the default choice when suitable riding kit is not already owned.
Revvi 16 XL + Spare Battery Bundle
Best for: keen riders, longer sessions and regular weekend use.
- The bike's standard battery remains included
- A compatible spare battery is supplied as well
- Swap batteries instead of ending the session to recharge
- More usable riding time during trips and practice days
- Better preparation for a bike likely to be ridden frequently
For an experienced rider who already owns gear, this is the bundle we would push hardest.
Which Revvi 16 XL bundle should you choose?
Choose the riding gear bundle when the child still needs suitable protective equipment. The extra performance of the 16 XL makes correct kit especially important.
Choose the extended ride-time bundle when protective kit is already covered. A spare battery is one of the most useful purchases for a confident rider who is likely to use the 16 XL regularly.
My view on Revvi 16 XL sizing
My take as a British motocross rider
The Revvi 16 XL is where the range starts to feel much more like a proper mini off-road bike. The stronger motor, hydraulic brakes and suspension make a noticeable difference, but they also mean the rider needs to be ready for it.
I would not buy the 16 XL purely because it offers more power. The ideal rider has already developed good throttle and braking habits and can physically control the bike. When that is the case, the 16 XL is a brilliant bridge between the smaller Revvi models and the Revvi 18.
