Amped A20 Comp 1000W Electric Bike – Quick Overview
Best for: confident riders wanting the most capable premium 20” Amped bike.
Ideal rider height: riders around 130–160cm.
Motor: 36V 1000W brushless hub motor with 1200W peak power.
Battery: 36V 10Ah lithium battery.
Speed modes: Beginner / Advanced / Sport — up to 28mph.
Why parents choose it: full suspension, hydraulic brakes, 20” fat tyres, serious power and a much more capable feel than standard electric balance bikes.
Our view: the flagship 20” Amped bike and likely the most popular premium model in the entire Amped range.
The Amped A20 Comp is expected to become the most popular premium electric bike in the Amped range. It combines the ideal 20” wheel size, serious 1000W performance, premium suspension and hydraulic brakes into a package that suits a huge range of confident young riders.
For many families, the A20 Comp sits in the sweet spot. It offers more room, more stability and more performance than the Amped A18 Comp, while remaining more approachable and versatile than the larger Amped A24 Comp.
In terms of sizing, the A20 Comp is best suited to riders around 130–160cm tall. That makes it one of the broadest-fitting bikes in the Amped Comp range and a fantastic long-term option for growing riders.
Unlike the Amped A20 Pro, which is still fundamentally a high-performance electric balance bike, the A20 Comp moves into a different category with full suspension, a larger chassis and a much more planted feel off-road.
Not sure which Comp model is right? Read our Amped A18 Comp vs A20 Comp guide if your rider is between sizes, or our Amped A20 Comp vs A24 Comp comparison if you are deciding between the flagship 20” and larger 24” models.
My Take as a British MX Rider
The A20 Comp is the bike I would point most performance-focused riders towards.
The Revvi 20 remains one of the best all-round electric bikes available and is incredibly easy to recommend. The Amped A20 Pro is also a brilliant performance electric balance bike.
But the A20 Comp starts to feel much more like a proper lightweight electric bike thanks to the full suspension chassis, larger platform and more planted handling.
If your rider enjoys rougher terrain, jumps, woodland riding and continually pushing their limits, this is the bike I would choose over most other 20” options.
If they are slightly smaller, compare the A18 Comp vs A20 Comp. If they are taller and more advanced, compare the A20 Comp vs A24 Comp.
For many riders, the A20 Comp is likely to become the sweet spot of the entire Amped range.
Amped A20 Pro vs Revvi 20 vs STACYC 20eDRIVE ELITE vs A20 Comp
Bike Best For My Recommendation Revvi 20 General riding, trails and all-round progression. The safest all-round recommendation for most riders. Amped A20 Pro Performance-focused electric balance bike riders. One of the best value performance electric balance bikes available. STACYC 20eDRIVE ELITE Premium lightweight riding experience. Excellent if low weight and handling are the priority. Amped A20 Comp Riders wanting maximum capability from a premium 20” bike. The bike I would recommend for riders who genuinely want to push their limits. The Revvi 20 is one of the best all-round bikes available. It is a brilliant choice for general riding, trail use, steady progression and families who want a capable but more approachable larger electric bike.
The Amped A20 Pro is a superb performance electric balance bike and excellent value for money. It gives riders strong speed and hydraulic braking, but it is still more of an electric balance bike than a full-suspension electric bike.
The STACYC 20eDRIVE ELITE is a premium lightweight option with fantastic handling. It is a great choice for riders who prioritise low weight, refinement and a very responsive feel.
The A20 Comp sits above all three when outright capability is the priority. Full suspension, hydraulic brakes, a 1000W motor and a purpose-built Comp chassis make it an exceptionally capable off-road bike for riders who want to push harder.
