My take as a British motocross rider

The biggest mistake is treating this as a simple choice between 8kW and 10kW. The more important difference is the physical size and weight of the two bikes.

A rider who fits the Hyper Bee properly will normally progress faster and ride with more confidence than someone struggling to hold up a Light Bee X simply because it is the more powerful model.

The Light Bee X is undoubtedly the more capable all-round machine for a taller and stronger rider. It offers more space, larger wheels and greater long-term performance.

My view: choose the Hyper Bee when the Light Bee X is physically too much bike. Choose the Light Bee X when the rider can genuinely manage its additional height and weight.

The biggest difference is physical size

The Hyper Bee is built around a compact youth-focused chassis. Its approximately 685mm standard seat height, 14/12 wheels and 39kg curb weight make it noticeably easier for a smaller rider to support and reposition.

The Light Bee X has a seat height of approximately 830mm, full-size 19/18 wheels and an approximately 59kg curb weight. It provides much more room for taller riders, but it requires considerably more strength and confidence at low speed.

Simple rule: when a rider can operate the Light Bee X but cannot confidently support or reposition it, they are probably better suited to the Hyper Bee.

Power difference: 8kW vs 10kW
