10TEN-JHL LK140 Pit Bike

The 10TEN JHL LK140 17/14 combines a larger traditional pit-bike chassis with a proven Zongshen W140 four-stroke engine, four-speed manual gearbox and conventional clutch.

Producing a claimed maximum of 9.5hp, the LK140 provides a noticeable step up in performance from the LK125 while retaining the same 830mm-seat, 17/14-inch chassis format.

With electric and kick start, aluminium wheels, inverted front suspension and hydraulic disc brakes, it is designed for riders who have outgrown smaller pit bikes and are ready for a more capable manual machine.

The LK140 is not intended to be the default choice simply because it has the larger engine. Riders wanting the same physical size with more manageable performance should also consider the 10TEN JHL LK125.

Zongshen W140 Four-Stroke Engine – 9.5hp

Power comes from the Zongshen W140 four-stroke engine, producing a claimed maximum output of 9.5hp.

The W140 gives the LK140 stronger performance than the 7.5hp HS125 engine used in the LK125. This makes it better suited to a developing or experienced rider who can confidently manage a manual clutch and wants more usable off-road power.

A PE22 carburettor handles fuelling, providing a straightforward mechanical setup suited to recreational private-land riding.

Four-Speed Manual Gearbox and Clutch

The LK140 uses a four-speed manual gearbox with a conventional hand-operated clutch.

The rider must coordinate clutch engagement, throttle input and gear selection. This creates a more involved riding experience and develops the control skills required for larger petrol pit bikes and dirt bikes.

Polished folding brake and clutch levers are fitted as standard. Their folding design can help reduce the likelihood of damage during a minor fall or tip-over.

The LK140 is therefore better treated as a progression bike rather than a first introduction to motorcycling. Riders who are not ready for a manual clutch should consider the semi-automatic MK110.

Electric and Kick Start

Both electric and kick start are fitted as standard.

The electric starter provides convenient push-button starting, while the kick starter remains available as a practical backup.

A 5Ah gel battery powers the electric starting system. Battery condition, fuel quality, carburettor setup and routine servicing will all affect starting performance.

830mm Seat Height and 17/14-Inch Chassis

The LK140 has an 830mm seat height, 1250mm wheelbase and 17-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels.

It is physically larger and more spacious than the 14/12-inch MK110 and MK125. This gives a taller rider more room to move around while helping the bike roll more comfortably through ruts, bumps and uneven ground.

Overall dimensions are approximately 1780 × 740 × 1100mm.

The 17-inch front wheel improves rough-ground ability, while the 14-inch rear helps preserve the compact, responsive character expected from a traditional pit bike.

Fit should be assessed using rider height, inside-leg measurement, physical strength, experience and confidence rather than age alone.

Aluminium 17/14-Inch Wheels

The LK140 uses aluminium alloy rims with upgraded aluminium alloy hubs.

The wheels are fitted with Yuangxing off-road tyres:

• Front: 70/100-17 Yuangxing tyre
• Rear: 90/100-14 Yuangxing tyre

Wheel locks are fitted at the front and rear to help prevent tyre movement around the rims, particularly when lower tyre pressures are used for off-road riding.

Inverted Front Forks and Rear Mono Shock

Up front, the LK140 uses a 35mm inverted fork, providing a more substantial front-end arrangement than the conventional telescopic suspension fitted to smaller starter bikes.

At the rear is a 340mm single mono shock, working with the steel swingarm to control the rear of the bike.

Both suspension units are non-adjustable. This keeps the setup straightforward while still providing the suspension movement required for recreational off-road use.

Hydraulic Disc Brakes and Alloy Controls

Hydraulic disc brakes at the front and rear provide controlled stopping performance from both wheels.

The cockpit uses an aluminium alloy handlebar and forged alloy steering stem, while polished folding brake and clutch levers complete the control setup.

Wide stainless steel footpegs give the rider a secure platform when riding seated or standing.

Engine Protection and Heavy-Duty Final Drive

A steel engine protector helps shield the underside of the motor against debris and minor impacts when riding over rough ground.

Drive to the rear wheel is handled by a heavy-duty 428H Choho chain, running on a 16-tooth steel front sprocket and 41-tooth steel rear sprocket.

The steel swingarm provides a straightforward and durable foundation for the rear wheel and suspension assembly.

Six-Litre Fuel Tank and Hourmeter

A six-litre plastic fuel tank provides useful capacity for a pit bike of this size and is finished with a CNC vent valve.

An hourmeter is fitted as standard, making it easier to record engine running time and follow the required oil-change, valve-check and routine servicing schedule.

The bike is finished with a black frame, stainless steel exhaust and distinctive 10TEN with JHLOFR graphics.
