Amped A-MX 12" Electric Dirt Bike – Quick Overview
Best for: developing riders ready for the larger, more powerful A-MX platform with parent-controllable performance.
Motor: 36V 1000W brushless rear hub motor with up to 2200W peak power.
Battery: 36V 10Ah lithium battery using 21700 cells.
Top speed: up to approximately 27.9mph / 45km/h in Speed Mode 5.
Seat height: 560mm / 56cm.
Standout feature: five selectable speed modes, with Speed Mode 1 lockable through the WUXING DZ40 display.
Our view: a serious compact progression bike combining manageable dimensions with proper suspension, hydraulic brakes and performance that can be increased as confidence develops.
The Amped A-MX 12" is a compact electric dirt bike designed to give younger riders a proper introduction to off-road riding. It combines a manageable 560mm seat height with the chassis, suspension and braking equipment expected from a much more serious machine.
Its 36V 1000W brushless hub motor produces up to 2200W peak power, while five selectable speed settings allow performance to be introduced gradually. Parents can lock the WUXING DZ40 display in Speed Mode 1 while a rider learns the controls, then unlock faster modes as their ability improves.
This is not a basic electric balance bike. With adjustable inverted front forks, FASTACE rear suspension, hydraulic disc brakes and lightweight aluminium wheels, the A-MX 12" is built around a proper small dirt-bike platform.
My Take as a British MX Rider
The five-stage power progression is the feature that makes this bike especially useful. A younger rider can learn balance, throttle control and braking at a very low speed without immediately having access to the full 2200W peak output.
The suspension and hydraulic brakes also separate it from a conventional balance bike. It has the stance and equipment to introduce proper off-road technique as the rider becomes more capable.
For a younger rider who is ready to move towards a genuine dirt-bike feel, the A-MX 12" is the stronger A-MX choice for riders ready for more size and speed.
Why Choose the Amped A-MX 12"?
Five Speed Modes
Start at 6.2mph and increase the available speed progressively as the rider develops.
2200W Peak Power
A 1000W rated hub motor provides strong performance when the rider is ready to use it.
Proper Suspension
Adjustable inverted forks and a FASTACE rear shock give the bike genuine off-road capability.
Hydraulic Brakes
Front and rear Amped hydraulic brakes provide controlled stopping performance.
Compact 560mm Seat
A low, manageable riding position designed around younger off-road riders.
Premium Chassis
20CrMo steel frame, aluminium single-sided swingarm and lightweight alloy wheels.
Five Speed Modes – Performance That Grows With the Rider
The A-MX 12" uses a WUXING DZ40 display to provide five selectable speed settings. This means a new rider does not need immediate access to the bike's full performance.
The display can be locked in Speed Mode 1, limiting the bike to approximately 6.2mph / 10km/h. Once the rider has developed better balance, braking and throttle control, higher modes can be introduced progressively.
Speed Mode Maximum Speed Best Use Mode 1 6.2mph / 10km/h First rides and learning controls Mode 2 9.3mph / 15km/h Early confidence building Mode 3 15.5mph / 25km/h Developing riders Mode 4 21.7mph / 35km/h Confident off-road riding Mode 5 27.9mph / 45km/h Experienced riders only Important: Speed settings support rider progression, but they do not replace adult supervision, correct protective equipment or choosing a bike that properly fits the rider.
1000W Brushless Hub Motor – Up to 2200W Peak
The rear-mounted 36V 1000W alloy brushless hub motor can deliver up to 2200W peak power. The hub-drive layout keeps the drivetrain simple because there is no conventional chain or sprocket transferring power to the rear wheel.
Electric power also removes the need for a clutch or gears. The rider can concentrate on throttle control, braking, balance and body position.
At its highest setting, the A-MX 12" is capable of approximately 27.9mph / 45km/h. This is serious performance for a compact youth machine, so the faster modes should only be used by riders with the necessary ability and in a suitable controlled environment.
36V 10Ah Battery & Riding Time
Power comes from a 36V 10Ah lithium battery using 21700 cells. Estimated riding time is approximately 60–90 minutes, with a quoted charging time of around 2–4 hours.
Actual runtime will vary considerably depending on the selected speed mode, rider weight, terrain, gradient, temperature and riding style. Continuous high-speed riding and steep terrain will reduce runtime.
Adjustable Inverted Forks & FASTACE Rear Suspension
The A-MX 12" uses substantial 39/42mm adjustable inverted front forks with a separation-piston design. This gives the front end a proper dirt-bike look and helps the bike deal with uneven private-land terrain.
At the rear, a FASTACE 190mm spring shock rated at 1000lb works with the aluminium single-sided swingarm. Together, the front and rear setup gives riders more control and comfort as their speed and confidence increase.
10-Inch Aluminium Wheels & Motorcycle-Style Tyres
The bike rolls on 12-inch lightweight aluminium HPDC wheels front and rear, finished in black powder coat. These are paired with wide 2.50-inch motorcycle-style tyres for a more planted off-road footprint.
A 560mm seat height and 880mm wheelbase keep the chassis compact while still giving it the stance of a proper small electric dirt bike.
20CrMo Steel Frame & Aluminium Single-Sided Swingarm
The chassis combines a matt-black 20CrMo steel frame with a 6061 aluminium single-sided swingarm. The swingarm helps reduce weight and gives the A-MX a distinctive finish inspired by the larger Amped Comp models.
The bike weighs approximately 28.5kg and measures around 1300 × 610 × 750mm. A black anodised aluminium fat bar, WUXING 19mm children's twist grip and matt-finish 3M graphics complete the cockpit and bodywork.
Amped Hydraulic Disc Brakes
With up to 2200W peak output available, braking performance matters. The A-MX 12" uses Amped hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, with a 160mm front disc and 140mm rear disc.
The adjustable Amped brake levers can be positioned for smaller hands, helping the rider maintain better control and reach.
Amped A-MX 10" vs A-MX 12"
The A-MX 12" is the larger and considerably faster model. The right choice should be based on rider fit and ability, not simply buying the most powerful version.
Model Peak Power Top Speed Seat Height A-MX 10" 1900W 21.7mph 520mm A-MX 12" 2200W 27.9mph 560mm Choose the A-MX 10" for the smaller, more manageable chassis. Choose the A-MX 12" when the rider needs more room and is genuinely ready for its higher speed and performance.

Our Verdict
Choose the A-MX 12" if you want the more powerful A-MX model with a 560mm seat, proper suspension and hydraulic braking.
Its biggest advantage is the five-mode system, which allows performance to grow with the rider instead of forcing them to start with full power.
With 2200W peak power available, it offers genuine room for progression — provided the bike fits the rider and the faster modes are introduced responsibly.
